About the boss implemented in 0.10


I will write about the boss videos I have made so far and the production concept.

・Triffid

┗A plant-type boss. In Metroid games, the opening is usually a plant area. The boss that appears there is usually a plant or an insect. I used Mr. Sporespawn as a reference, but since this game is based on the concept of flashy and aggressive combat, I made the first boss launch a barrage of bullet attacks. The sprite image and scream sound effects are borrowed from Castlevania's Stone Rose.

・KiruGiruLarva

┗An insect-type boss. To differentiate it from the original Kirugiru larva and to allow for aggressive offense and defense, I added some Arachnus-like actions. I designed a boss battle that combines horizontal and vertical attacks in a small room. The idea for this boss came from pondering, "What kind of boss would drop a dodge roll?"

・KiruGiruAdult

┗An insect-type boss. In the original game, Kirugiruadult was fought by going back and forth on a slope and firing missiles at the insect's tail, but in this game, it was designed as the final boss in the plant area, where you fight using shooting and evasive actions. As with the KirugiruLarva, I was pondering "what kind of boss would drop a spin kick?" and came up with a boss that shoots shockwaves with somersaults. I thought it would be cool to avoid those shockwaves with a dodge roll, so I designed the battle and boss action based on that flow.The needles on the floor get in the way and make it difficult to dodge, but I think that was well designed to make the player aware of the weaknesses of evasive actions.
